The Steadfast Love of God Endures Forever

God is love and love is God, His breath is love, His nature is love. He gives love, makes love, and promotes love. For His love, we have life and have it more abundantly. The creation of the entire world, its design and attribute are clear Indication of the love of God for man. He created the heaven and the earth, the night and day, the garden endowed with different fruits and vegetables in a serene environment; flying birds and walking animals to please man. He brought man into the world of possibilities, a world free from evil and extremely rewarding. Looking at the current activities of the devil and his cronies which are against the biblical description of the initial plan of God for man before the fall, it becomes obvious what difference abounds. Now , there is a  large margin between a suiting life full of succor that God proposed and the destructive life the devil imposed. Hence, this observation will exonerate the agenda of God to bring man into the world of limitless peace Jeremiah 29:11 for I know the thought I think towards you, said the lord thought of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Truth be told, if evil didn’t pervade the entire world, man would better appreciate what could have been a perfect existence.

The intended story here is not of the fall of man or the gimmicks of the devil but about the love of God and His arrangements to give us an expected end here on earth before we get to heaven. In the Garden of Eden, the angels were on guard 365 days a year. Always at our beck and call, a 24 HOURS angelic service, three square meals with appetizer. He laid down a pecking order making man the commander in chief; power flowed from man down to other aspect of the creation of God, the voice of man became the voice of God.

All these acts that exalt God are indications of His loving kindness; He prepared a suitable abode for man.  The same way parent show love to their forthcoming baby by preparing immensely, so did God. His love for man moved Him to holistically prepare.  As it is, from the first month of a pregnancy, mothers start the preparation for the unborn child, going through series of prenatal treatment; booking appointments with doctors to keep an eye on the baby all through the nine months. They try to eat the right food and take in necessary nutrients and beside these; parents go to the store to get the necessary things for the baby, from diapers to cloth, pram to feeding bottle. Some go as far as clearing a whole room and employing the services of a baby sitter because of their untainted love for the child, even while in the womb. So also was it before the creation of man. Like parents, God loves us. He couldn’t afford to bring us to a world of inconveniences; His love for us moved Him to erect an unmistakable haven for our coming, a paradise in context, a home in content. Genesis 1:2 and the earth was without form, and void; and darkness were upon the face of the deep. This was the situation of our home (earth) after its creation. It was without shape, specifics or value. This period was a dark one. Some prisons in Nigeria are example of a formless home.  God couldn’t have left us to find our way out, His love moved Him to make something out of nothing; He became the master architect because He loves us. He wore His creative garment and masterminded the best construction of all time in six days. Such speed and determination is an attitude attributable to a loving father. Genesis 1:2-25 tells us how God created everything, from air to moon and stars, from birds to fishes and animals, from darkness to light-day to night.

In Genesis 1:26, God couldn’t hide His unfettered love for us, He called the heavenly councils and told them how He wanted His glorious creation to be verse 26And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Wow! Here, God erased any initial doubt of His love for man. With this decision, He unambiguously established a relationship with man that is love laden. He gave man two things; one, He gave man access to heaven- He said lets make man to be perfect like us. Lets give him every unique quality we have in us; let him have our brains, looks, strength, wisdom, power, charisma, abilities and much more. With these heavenly attributes, man has all it takes to sit in heaven with God. Mattew 22:30-for in resurrection they neither marry, nor are given to marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. This verse makes us realize that after death, there will be nothing to be done, no marriage or any family but man will rise to be like the angels in heaven. Secondly, he gave man access to earth and relinquishes power to acquire what He labored for 6 days to create. Thus, he told man I love you so much that I have worked tirelessly for 6 days, take everything there in and lord over. suffice to say, in as much as parents acquire much wealth to cater for their children, to send them to school, provide their needs etc. in fact, to guide against any case of eventualities, some parents set up a trust fund for their children while others engage in unholy means of getting wealth to take care of their children. How much more God whose love for man is huge, He couldn’t afford to see man suffer so he created the best for man, made the best out of man and handed the best unto man.

In a family of seven- father, mother and five beautiful children. The father concentrated his strength and wealth on giving the children qualitative education, provided all their basic and personal needs. These children were epitome of a well nurtured people; education intact, material things on point, home superb, status excellent, cash always available etc. Some years after however,  all the kids were out of school except the last born.Unfortunately, the first male child was a drop out and cared less about his parent.  All he does was live waywardly in the U.K along with the second born who though finished school, chose a career in weed taking, smoking his life out. The third female child was married, unfortunately to a man of high status. Though she sends money home, she was never around regularly. While the fourth female, was a lawyer by profession. Her job was way important than any flimsy visit to her parents.  Years after, the last born became the recent graduate in the neighborhood, easy going and soft spoken, God fearing and so concerned about his parents. He was the totality of what the other kids were not; responsible, reliable and comfortable. Now, irrespective of what happened, is it feasible the parent would be willing to sacrifice this beloved son for the sake of the other four? Maybe go to jail for his two brothers or possibly die for their sins? Would they have agreed?  Which parent will freely do that?

This is the wonder and love of God which is mighty in our sight. Even after declaring Christ as His beloved son, in whom He is well pleased (Mattew 3:17 and 17: 5), God went ahead and sacrificed Jesus for you and I. john 3:16 says for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe th in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. The blood of the Lamb of God which was the last card was shared on the cross to totally take devil out and secure redemption for man. Revelation 12:11 and they overcame him by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of their testimony. Thus, erasing our past misdeeds of sinful existence and granting unto us a redeemed future in Christ Jesus.  For the love He has for us, His only Son was subjected to brutality by ordinary soldiers; he was whipped, kicked, stripped naked and made to carry cross all by himself. For sin he didn’t commit, Christ carried all burdens and sins upon himself, he took all pains for man. Because of the love of God for us, His only Son, the Lion of the tribe of Judah went through the contemptuous and evil initiatives of wicked. Christ received the beaten of His life for us. Ordinary elders spit on Him Mattew 26:67 then they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, soldiers dragged Him, molested Him and even wore Him the Crown of Thorns.

Quoting – (J.I. Packer, Knowing God) in NATION OF LIGHT Posted by Jesse.Dvorák “On the cross Jesus lost all the good that he had before: all sense of his Fathers presence and love, all sense of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, all enjoyment of God and of created things, all ease and solace of friendship, were taken from him, and in their place was nothing but loneliness, pain, a killing sense of human malice and callousness, and a horror of great spiritual darkness. The physical pain, though great (for crucifixion remains the cruelest form of judicial execution that the world has ever known), was yet only a small part of the story; Jesus chief sufferings were mental and spiritual, of agony – agony such that each minute was an eternity in itself, as mental sufferers know that individual minutes can be”.

This is what the only Son of God went through because of man. On the cross, He was rejected so man could be accepted in the end. The soldiers placed nails on His palms and feet, lifted the hammer and with the evil mind slammed it against the cross. Raised the cross and left Him in the pool of His blood to die. So much against a sinless Christ, man is the sinner but Christ payed because God can’t withstand to see man suffer, hence His mercy through Christ Jesus. His love for man remains forever.  I am glad to be identified with the king of all kings, Christ the savior, my healer and comforter. His love for me is untainted, pure and holistic. He brought me out of destruction, fought the despairing battle for me.  Now I have a new birth in Christ, a second chance to usher me into the prepared kingdom in heaven. My identity is secured, my destination is guaranteed. The love of God is sufficient for me; the name of Jesus is my strong tower Proverbs 18:10 the name of the lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. John 8:36 if the Son therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Thank you God for second chance, for the love you have for me.
